The Army Air Forces in World War II: Combat Chronology, 1941—1945...is precisely what its name indicates—a factual record of combat operations conducted by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. No attempt has been made to interrelate the events—that task remains for those writing history. No attempt has been made to incorporate events of broader scope than combat operations of the AAF—for those the historian may consult other specialized chronologies. This volume does, however, fill in the fine, essential detail to the earlier seven-volume history of The Army Air Forces in World War II.
